The Exmissions Process

Our community is remarkably diverse in the next schools chosen for their children. Our children go to schools that are uptown/downtown, progressive/traditional, coed/single-sex, public/independent. They are prepared with a foundation that has prepared them for rigorous academic learning. Our students hold the knowledge and experience that there is intrinsic pleasure in learning, that they are valued and have something to offer, that adults are partners in learning, and that learning is not confined to school. We have helped each child to unfold in the way most natural to him or her.

This process begins in the spring of the year the child is in the Three’s Class with our “What’s Next Meeting”. The Director holds a meeting with all families applying out during the following fall to go over the process for both public and private school. The goal is to answer as many questions and allay as many fears as possible before entering into the process in the fall, generally in the child’s Four's year.

Over the next several months our Director, Jean, meets with families individually to discuss a list of schools for your child. Once parents can apply to their schools and begin their tours Jean is accessible for questions and advice at any time to support the process.
