Chelsea Day School
Our Toddler Group classes and our Summer Program are open to not only our school community but all interested families in the neighborhood.
Our Toddler Group is a program for children ages 15 to 22 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The Group is guided by Chelsea Day School teachers.
The program creates a structure where children follow a routine that is consistent, helping children to transition from one activity to another with increasing ease. The teachers provide a setting where adult and child can play with age-appropriate materials as language and communication skills develop. These skills are developed through story time, open exploration with interesting materials, singing songs, and modeling the behavior of teachers as they interact with children.
The groups meet on Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and children are divided into either class based on age.*
Monday/Wednesday: ages 15-19 months
Tuesday/Thursday: ages 20-24 months
* age at the start of the program.
There are two sessions throughout the school year.
Our Fall session will begin on 9/26/23 and will end on 1/25/24.
Our Spring session will begin on 1/29/24 and will end on 5/26/24.
There is a maximum of 8 children per class, and one adult per child (parent or caregiver). The Toddler Group classes are open to the community on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Summer Program for children 2- 6 years of age runs for 4 weeks, with each day providing a balance of structured activities as well as free play to ensure every child has a valuable, rewarding and enjoyable experience. The Program is open to all children from Chelsea Day School as well as children and their families from our nearby community.
Entering 2s
Our Ladybugs group runs for 4 weeks and is open to children entering a 2s program either at Chelsea Day School or elsewhere in the fall. Chelsea Day School students have preference as they become familiar with their new environment. This program focuses on the process of separation and helps to prepare children for school in the fall.
Entering 3s (Butterflies) & Entering 4s or Kindergarten (Dragonflies)
Our Summer Program for children ages 3-6 runs on a week to week basis, Monday- Friday, 9am- 1pm for the Dragonflies and 9:10-1:10pm for our Butterflies. Children will pack lunch and eat at Chelsea Day School or picnic outside at the nearby park when possible. Activities include indoor explorations, music and art as well as adventures outside of Chelsea Day School when appropriate. Children in the Butterflies are entering a 3s program in the Fall and Dragonflies entering a 4s or Kindergarten program in the Fall.
